If you're experiencing belt slipping on your ProForm space saver treadmill, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially fix the issue. One common cause of belt slippage is a belt that's been tightened too much. To loosen the belt, rotate each bolt counterclockwise (about one quarter turn) until it feels more relaxed.

To access the rear roller bolts, look for two screws located on either side of the treadmill belt. These screws hold the belt in place and can be removed by unscrewing them. Once you've removed the screws, lift up the edge of the belt to expose the rollers underneath.

Next, carefully observe the back side of the treadmill frame. If the belt is properly centered and tightened, you should be able to lift both edges of the belt about 2-3 inches without too much resistance. If it's difficult to lift the belt, it may be due to the belt being over-tightened.

If you've checked the gap and the belt seems to be properly centered, try checking the length of the gap between the switch and the magnet. The magnet should ideally line up with a small cylinder called the Reed Switch, which is located in the treadmill frame.

On the left side of the treadmill belt, there's a small magnet on the outer side of the pulley. This magnet plays an important role in keeping the belt moving smoothly. If you notice that the magnet is not aligned properly with the Reed switch, try adjusting it to see if that resolves the issue.

Another possible cause of belt slippage is a faulty circuit breaker. Check the tabbed end of the circuit breaker (located near the power cord) to make sure it hasn't tripped. If it has, wait for about 5 minutes and then reset it by pushing the tabbed end back in.

Finally, check the circuit connection thoroughly to ensure that everything is properly plugged in. Make sure your treadmill is connected to a grounded outlet and that the single outlet surge suppressor is fully seated.
